About Community Informal Training Company
The Community Informal Training Company (CITC) was created with funding from Local Authority in 2008. CITC develops a new approach in encouraging young adults who are Not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET). This is done by allowing the young adults to tailor the content of their course experience, to achieve an outcome that is beneficial. CITC has previously ran innovative projects over recent years; engaging over a 1000 young adults taking part in many diverse activities. The main ethos of CITC is to encourage each individual to accept the opportunity to achieve personal goals within their own social and educational environment. The young adult is given encouragement to accept control of their own destiny, and use their own abilities and information available to make decisions. We provide accredited functional skills, encourage social interactions, and make young adults aware of their educational, social and personal responsibilities within society. Focus is placed on self-awareness and their own impact on other individuals within society. We provide opportunities for future progression to other providers or main stream employment or education.
